RightSpot Solutions
Overview:
RightSpot is a cloud-based, mobile & Web platform designed for K–12 schools to streamline student dismissal, transportation and safety workflows. It enables school staff, bus drivers/monitors and parents to stay in sync with real-time student whereabouts, bus tracking, roster updates, and after-school activity changes. The goal was to design and develop a unified experience that makes complex operational flows simple, transparent and secure.
My Role:
Lead UI/UX Designer & Front-End Developer
I was responsible for designing the end-to-end user interface across the website and in-app product flows (school staff portal, driver app, parent app) and developing the responsive website front-end. I collaborated with product managers, backend engineers and client stakeholders to align on user needs, technical constraints and branding.
Objectives:
- Create a brand-aligned site that clearly communicates core benefits (student safety, real-time tracking, transportation management).
- Design the UX for multi-user workflows (school staff, drivers, parents) with clarity and ease of use.
- Develop a responsive website front-end that improves lead-generation (demo requests, free trial sign-ups) for the SaaS offering.
- Ensure scalability, performance and accessibility (applicable for both web and mobile-related touchpoints).
Key Features:
- Real-Time Student & Bus Tracking
- Dynamic Dismissal & Transportation Workflow
- Role-Based Interfaces
- Integration-Friendly & Secure
- Lead & Conversion-Focused Website
Tools & Technologies:
- Design: Photoshop, Adobe XD, Illustrator
- Development: React, HTML5, SCSS, JavaScript, GSAP, Framer Motion
- Collaboration: GitHub, Jira
Results:
- Improved website clarity and messaging: key value statements visible above the fold, demo signup paths obvious.
- Increased user engagement for target personas (school administrators, transportation teams, parents) via role-tailored content.
- Achieved a scalable UI system for both the website and product flows, enabling future expansions (resources, case studies, integrations).
Takeaway:
Working on RightSpot challenged me to design across a layered ecosystem of users (administrators, drivers, parents) and to bring together robust functionality with approachable UI/UX. I learned how to translate complex operational workflows (school dismissal, transportation logistics) into a simple, dependable digital experience, delivering both user clarity and business impact.
